If you do not understand what drives your actions and behaviors, it will be hard to cultivate growth, especially in leadership roles. As you discover what inspires you, you’ll identify what may hold you back. You’ll discover the traits, habits and behaviors that propel you forward and identify the traits, habits and behaviors that has caused you to mismanage, micromanage or misunderstand co-workers, family, and friends.

pamerson Ifill
Pamerson Ifill is the 10th Commissioner of the Massachusetts Probation Service and the first Black commissioner in the Probation Service’s 146-year history. Commissioner Ifill began working as a juvenile probation officer and worked his way up the ranks during his 30-year career to become a Chief Probation Officer, Regional Supervisor, Deputy Commissioner, and in November 2023, he was sworn in as commissioner. Commissioner Ifill is a national leader in the criminal justice field and currently sits on the board of the American Probation and Parole Association.

Racial Trauma & Racial Equity
Katherine Perry-Lorentz & dr. Nokuthula Sibanda
DYS, in partnership with the center on child well-being & trauma at the office of the Child Advocate will be launching a new training program to support trauma responsive and racially equitable practices across the state of MA. This will be called the JDAI trauma & racial equity empowerment (TREE) Academy. TREE will have the primary focus to build statewide capacity for trauma-responsive racial equity training by developing a cadre of skilled trainers across the agency

Plenary SPEAKER
Judge Serge Georges
Serge Georges, Jr. was appointed to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court by Governor Charlie Baker on December 16, 2020. He previously served as an Associate Justice of the Boston Municipal Court appointed by Governor Deval Patrick in 2013. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 1992 and a law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1996. Justice Georges began his legal career as a litigation associate at Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster, P.C. and Todd & Weld, LLP. In 2007 he joined the firm of Barron & Stadfeld, P.C., eventually becoming a partner. He had a diverse practice focused on commercial litigation and criminal defense in state and federal courts. Justice Georges’ teaching positions include adjunct professorships at Suffolk University Law School (2000 to present) and University of Massachusetts School of Law (2019 to present), where he teaches courses in Evidence, Professional Responsibility and Trial Advocacy.
