Honorable Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court
Being the second Black man ever named to the SJC court securing three jurists of color for the first time in SJC history was brought to you by a man born and raised right in heart of Dorchester. The Haitian American, Boston native was appointed to the bench in 2013 where he presided over the Dorchester Drug Court. He began his legal career as a litigation associate. He then became partner and then finally opening his own practice focused on commercial litigation and defending both state and federal criminal cases.​
Did we mention... the smell of his grilled countrystyle BBQ ribs can put an entire courthouse into a lunch recess.

Commissioner Of Massachusetts Probation Service
Being the first black commissioner of the Massachusetts Probation service in 146 years of existence didn't come easy. Ifill spent four years as the MPS Deputy Commissioner for Pretrial Services, a Regional Supervisor for the trial court, Chief Probation Officer, Regional Program Manager, and Juvenile Probation Officer. Ifill possesses extensive experience within the criminal legal system as well as in working with private non-profits and college and academic programs.
